SALT LAKE CITY — The FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention was back for its fall event last weekend, and cosplay was bigger than ever.
Cosplay, short for "costume play," was once considered an activity for geeks. Cosplayers would come to conventions in handmade costumes, celebrating their favorite comics and video games. Others would look at them, amused at the out-of-season Halloween parade. Now, cosplay is enjoyed by everyone.
There are still hardcore cosplayers who dazzle everyone with larger-than-life costumes that include intricate details they spend months putting together.

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — One of Utah's biggest events raised its curtain Thursday, for a three-day celebration of popular culture.
The annual convention returns to Salt Lake City with a list of stars, including John Rhys-Davies who opened the main stage in the Grand Ballroom with a sizzle reel and stories of his work on "Lord of the Rings" and "Raiders of the Lost Ark."

Clark Gregg, best known for his role as Agent Phil Coulson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Paul Bettany, who plays Vision in the "Avengers" movies, are coming to FanX Spring 2019.

(Provo Herald) Ever since sparks ignited between FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention and San Diego Comic-Con International over the use of the term “comic con,” there’s been a little turbulence below the surface for defensive and devoted fans of the Utah convention, which regularly provides its guests with a veritable pop-culture paradise.
The upcoming FanX, however, set for April 18-19 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, is gearing up to be the path back to inner peace for justice-seeking fans of the convention.

FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention announced new celebrity guests for its upcoming event. The guests have stared in movies like "Harry Potter," "Guardians of the Galaxy", "The Office" and other popular films and TV shows. The convention will take place on April 19 and 20 at the Salt Palace Convention Center.
