Irene Bedard is an American actress who has played many Native American characters in a variety of films. She is perhaps best known for the role of Suzy Song in the film adaptation of Sherman Alexie’s Smoke Signals as well as for providing the voice of the title character in the animated film Pocahontas. 

In 2012, she started “Sleeping Lady Films” and “Waking Giants Productions” based out of Anchorage and Santa Fe, New Mexico. They are dedicated to bringing stories that are both positive and inspirational from Indian Country to the world.

Irene was in TV Shows The Mist, Longmire, Westworld, Into the West. She was also in the short film Jay-Z: Family Feud ft Beyonce, as well as several films, including Tree of Life, Spreading Darkness, Songs My Brother Taught Me, Ron and Laura Take Back America, Vertical, Cosmic Radio, The New World, Wild Flowers, and Navajo Blues. As a Voice Actor, she has been the voice of Disney’s Pochantas in over a dozen Films, TV Shows, and Video Games, was Jean DeWolf in The Spectacular Spiderman, and voiced characters in Young Justice, The Real Adventures of Johnny Quest, Adventures from the Book of Virtues, Pepper Ann, Roughnecks: The Starship Troopers Chronicles, What’s New Scooby Doo?, and Turok: Son of Stone. 

Most recently she voiced Pochantas in Ralph Breaks the Internet, and is acting in several projects that are still in production, including The Bygone, The Harbinger due out in 2019 (which she is also Producing), and the TV Movie Scalped.
