Jaleel Ahmad White is an American actor, voice actor, comedian, producer, and writer best known for his role as Steve Urkel in Family Matters. The character, which was originally intended to be a one-time guest appearance, was an instant hit with audiences and White became a regular cast member.
White is also the original English voice of the popular video game character Sonic the Hedgehog, doing so in the animated shows: Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic SatAM, and Sonic Underground, all of which were produced by (the now-defunct) DiC Entertainment. He reprised his role as Sonic in the 2013 Sonic fan film.
White portrayed Dr. McCormick in the cult classic Mega Shark vs Crocosaurus, starred in the UPN series Grown-Ups, has a supporting role in Dreamgirls, and cameo appearances on Boston Legal, House, Castle, Atlanta, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Drop Dead Diva, and Psych. White appeared as a contestant in season 14 of Dancing with the Stars, hosted Syfy’s game show Total Blackout, made multiple appearances on Drunk History, and appeared in Bones as Officer Adams.
Most recently he has been on Fresh off the Boat, Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?, Raven’s Home, DuckTales, and The Big Show Show.
