Trino

Cartoonist; holder of a long career. Trino is the winner of the National Prize of Journalism for Political Cartoon (2000, Mexico); the José Pagés Llergo National Prize for Communication (2006, Mexico); the San Diego Comic-Con Inkpot 2022 (2022, USA) and the Catrina prize at the International Book Fair of Guadalajara FIL (2022, Mexico). Along with Jis, Trino is the co-creator of the comic strip series and 2012 movie “El Santos vs. la Tetona Mendoza”. Since 2009 they both co-host the weekly radio show La Chora Interminable. And since 2021, La Chora TV has been broadcasting weekly on Mexican TV and through YouTube.

Trino has illustrated children’s books with the Fondo de Cultura Económica, Tusquets, Sexto Piso, and other publishers. Among his publications, 11 volumes of the “El Santos” series stand out, as well as “Unknown Stories of Independence and the Revolution” and “Unknown Stories of the Conquest”. 2012’s “Stories of the End of the World and Other Nonsense”, “Long Live the Family but far away” and “The Return of the Little King” all with the Tusquets publishing house. He has been invited to exhibit his most recognized strips at the Mexican consulates in Atlanta, El Paso, Salt Lake City, and San Diego.
