British actor Benedict Wong is best known for his roles in Marvel’s “DR STRANGE”, Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame as Wong, SyFy network’s new hit series “DEADLY CLASS, Netflix’s “MARCO POLO” (Kublai Khan) and Ridley Scott’s “THE MARTIAN” (Bruce Ng).
Benedict’s acting career has spanned two decades across theatre, film, and television. His earlier breakthrough film roles include Trey in Danny Boyles 2007 sci-fi Thriller “SUNSHINE”, in Duncan Jones’ “MOON” and as Guo Yi in Steven Frears 2002 Oscar-Nominated British Drama “DIRTY PRETTY THINGS”.
His latest theatre projects have included Ai Weiwei in Hampstead Theatre’s “#AIWW: THE ARREST OF AI WEIWEI” and the lead, Zhang Lin, in the five-time Olivier Award-winning “CHIMERICA”.
Benedict recently stared as Kublai Khan in Netflix’s historical-fiction drama “MARCO POLO”, which follows Polo’s early years in the court of Kublai; the Khagen of the Mongol Empire and founder of the Yuan Dynasty. Another recent television appearance so him in the role of Shaun Li in “BLACK MIRROR: HATED IN THE NATION”.
He’s also featured in award-winning sci-fi films from Ridley Scott including Ravel in Ridley Scott’s “PROMETHEUS” and Bruce Ng in “THE MARTIAN” which received seven Acadamy Award nominations.
