Caitlin Carmichael stars in BYUtv’s original scripted adventure comedy series “Dwight in Shining Armor” as Gretta, a gothic princess who has been magically sleeping for a thousand years and awoken by Dwight’s “kiss.”
Caitlin began her acting career at the tender age of 3 1/2 playing Jenny McCarthy’s daughter in the web series “In the Motherhood.” At just fourteen years old, Caitlin’s list of credits looks like that of an accomplished adult actor. Caitlin was one of the youngest actresses to appear on the 2014 Primetime Emmy ballot for her role in the Sony series “Chosen” opposite Milo Ventimiglia and Chad Michael Murray. Some of her credits include “The Good Doctor,” Netflix’s “Wheelman,” “American Girl,” Warner Brother’s “300: Rise of an Empire,” “CSI,” “Dexter,” “Law and Order,” “Criminal Minds” and “True Blood.” She starred alongside Pierce Brosnan in the acclaimed Stephen King miniseries “Bag of Bones” and has worked with other stars such as Danny DeVito and Jack Black. 2018 was an exciting year for Caitlin as she celebrated her premiere of the Dan Fogelman feature film “Life Itself” and continued production on “Dwight in Shining Armor.” Her most recent film, “Epiphany,” a completely female-led production with Caitlin filling the lead role, will hit theaters in 2019.
Caitlin’s love for acting is only matched by her love of her family and giving back to the community. In 2012, Caitlin increased her outreach efforts by sending a portion of her earnings to Community Hope School in Namibia, Africa, to provide clothes, food, and school supplies for a six-year-old girl. She continues to sponsor this young girl today. And, Caitlin is the newest celebrity to volunteer her time and talent to Alex’s Lemonade Stand, bringing smiles to children battling childhood cancer. With an active social media following, she is a favorite of teen brands and publications. Caitlin is a home-schooled eleventh-grader who loves to surf, play soccer and do her own stunts.
