WILLIAM KIRCHER is best known for his performance as “Bifur”, who is one of the thirteen dwarves of Thorin’s company in the beloved J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit. William hails from New Zealand and graduated from the country’s prestigious Drama School at age eighteen, having lied about his age upon entrance.
William’s prominence as an actor came with the success of Shark in the Park in his role as “BP”. Over the course of his career, William has played a diverse number of roles including appearances in Xena: Warrior Princess, Enid Blyton Adventure Series, Enid Blyton Secret Series and Legend of the Seeker to name a few. 2006 saw his return to being in front of the camera, with Out of the Blue which was an adaption of the true story of the Aramoana massacre.
Before returning to acting, William moved into production work and executive management as well as partnering in the formation of ScreenAdventures, a film production company.
