SALT LAKE CITY–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Today FanX® Salt Lake Comic Convention™ (https://fanxsaltlake.com/) publicly announced the formation of the League of Utah Volunteers (LUV). LUV was created to unite FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention fans in volunteering and making a difference in the community. LUV not only manages volunteers for FanX, but also will be supporting a multitude of community groups and nonprofits with reliable volunteers, cosplayers, technology management tools, and fundraising resources.

Utah is known for its volunteerism and the hospitality of its residents. Since its first event in 2013, FanX has organized a number of projects to serve and give back to the community. LUV will partner with and support a number of organizations including the Tour of Utah, Salt Lake Gaming Con, Make a Wish, Operation Underground Railroad, Utah Food Bank, First Step House, and USARA. LUV will work with these partners to organize events, raise funds, manage and supply volunteers while providing special perks and fundraising resources including FanX tickets and merchandise. “In addition to having fun at our conventions, we like to be involved and make a difference in our community,” said Bryan Brandenburg, FanX Co-Founder and President of League of Utah Volunteers. “Community organizations ask us all the time to help find volunteers for their events or supply tickets and marketing support to raise funds. LUV will help us organize the process more efficiently and be an even greater force for good.”

FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention has been involved in a number of community events and continues to support charitable and community organizations providing both financial and emotional support to Utah residents and communities. In the last five years, FanX has given almost $2 million in cash and tickets to underprivileged students, first responders, military personnel and community organizations. FanX has helped with fundraising and supported causes such as Utah Department of Veterans Affairs, Millie’s Princess Foundation, VA Hospital, the United States Air Force, KPCW, Operation Underground Railroad, Susan G. Komen, Utah Pride Center, The Leonardo, DECA, the Utah Food Bank, Huntsman Cancer Institute, Ballet West, Utah Symphony, the Humane Society of Utah and a number of others.

“One of the things that are most important to us is to be involved and give back to the communities in which we live, work and play,” said Dan Farr, Founder, and Producer of FanX and LUV Director. “We take the phrase, ‘with great power come great responsibility’ seriously. We are committed to making a difference in the lives of our fans and our community and LUV will help unite our efforts and help us make a greater impact. We want to give our volunteers the opportunity to contribute at a greater level than ever before.”
