FanX® Salt Lake Comic Convention™ Marketing Team are looking for talented, dynamic and driven interns to join our team for the FanX® Salt Lake Comic Convention™ 2019 season!  PR and Marketing internships are all available.

It is our goal to instill the basic teachings of marketing and event planning. We hope to provide an excellent opportunity to get hands-on training, gain new skills, and grow your resume at an exciting company. Interns will be working for school credit, FanX® Salt Lake Comic Convention™  2019 passes, and a behind-the-scenes experience at the big event.

FanX® Salt Lake Comic Convention™ 2019 is Friday, April 18th and Saturday, April 19th at the Salt Palace Convention Center.

AVAILABLE INTERNSHIPS

PR/MEDIA RELATIONS INTERN

Intern will assist Marketing Manager and other FanX® Salt Lake Comic Convention™ team members in the areas of marketing and public relations specifically press application maintenance, newsletter curation, content curation, copywriting, customer service, and assorted special projects leading up to FanX 2019.

It is our goal to instill the basic teachings of PR and marketing. We hope to provide an excellent opportunity to get hands-on training, gain new skills, and grow your resume at an exciting company.

Current college students who are interested in working for school credit, FanX 2019 passes, and perks and a behind-the-scenes experience at the big event are welcome to apply.

Requirements:

  • Candidate should be studying marketing, communication, public relations or a similar field with a strong interest in FanX® Salt Lake Comic Convention™, geek/fandom culture and marketing
  • Must have strong technology/social media skills.
  • Excellent writing skills including grammar, spelling, and attention to detail and format.
  • Comfortable speaking on the phone with excellent phone presence.
  • Must be organized, flexible, and have the ability to multitask.
  • Must be enthusiastic, articulate, poised and professional with a positive attitude.
  • Be able to learn quickly and be trained on special software and applications such as email blasts and ticketing software.
  • Have access to a personal laptop and smartphone with internet access to be able to work virtually.
  • A mature, accountable individual with excellent time management and organization skills. Experience using Basecamp is a plus.
  • Able to follow verbal and written directions.
  • Experience using Google Docs is a plus.

Salary:

  • Candidates must be eligible for school credit, as this is an unpaid internship. Credit can be earned for Spring and Summer 2019 semesters with cooperation with your internship program. Intern will receive FanX® Salt Lake Comic Convention™ passes and other staff perks.

Availability:

  • PR and Marketing Intern would need to be available at least 15 – 25 hours per week during office hours (Monday-Friday, anytime between 10 am and 7 p.m.) from January 2019 to April 2019. Depending on their work performance, intern will be allowed to work on some projects from home. Schedule will be determined upon hiring.
  • Must be completely available to work on-site at the Salt Palace Convention Center Friday, April 19 through Saturday, April 20 at the Salt Palace Convention Center for the big event.
  • Internship will begin in April 2019 after interviews have been completed and will end on Monday, April 29, 2019, when a short follow-up meeting will happen after the show.

SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN

Intern will assist Social Media Manager and other Salt Lake Comic Con marketing team members with social media account maintenance, event announcements, content curation, copywriting, customer service, and assorted special projects leading up to FanX® Salt Lake Comic Convention 2019.

The Social Media Intern will also serve as a member of the FanX® Salt Lake Comic Convention 2019 Social Media Team and will assist in covering the event live on our official social media channels. We hope to provide an excellent opportunity to get hands-on training, gain new skills, and grow your resume at an exciting company.

Current college students who are interested in working for school credit, FanX® Salt Lake Comic Convention 2019 passes and perks, and a behind-the-scenes experience at the big event are welcome to apply.

Requirements:

  • Candidate should be studying marketing, communication, or a similar field with a strong interest in FanX® Salt Lake Comic Convention, geek / fandom culture, and social media marketing.
  • Avid social media user. Very comfortable using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Google Plus, Pinterest, Tumblr, and others.
  • Must be very comfortable using a computer and social media apps.
  • A mature, accountable individual with excellent time management and organization skills. Experience using Basecamp is a plus.
  • Excellent writing skills including grammar, spelling, and attention to detail and format.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to follow verbal and written directions.
  • Have access to a personal laptop, a smartphone that can access Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, etc., reliable internet access, and reliable transportation.
  • Experience using Google Docs is a plus.

Salary:

  • Candidates must be attending a college or university and be eligible for school credit, as this is an unpaid internship. Credit can be earned for Spring or Summer 2019 semesters with cooperation with your internship program. Intern will receive FanX® Salt Lake Comic Convention 2019 passes and other staff perks for their work and time.

Availability:

  • Our Social Media Intern would need to be available at least 10 – 25 hours per week during office hours (Monday-Friday, anytime between 10 am and 7 p.m.) from January 2019 to April 2019. Depending on their work performance, intern will be allowed to work on projects from home. Schedule will be determined upon hiring.
  • Must be completely available to work on-site at the Salt Palace Convention Center Friday, April 19 through Saturday, April 20 at the Salt Palace Convention Center for the big event.
  • Internship will begin immediately after interviews have been completed, and will end on Monday, April 29, 2019 when a short follow-up meeting will happen after the show.

FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention is looking for a dynamic, outgoing Marketing Events Intern. Assistant will provide general administrative and event planning support to manager and other FanX team members in the areas of marketing events. Candidate should be studying public relations, marketing, communications, business, or a similar field with a strong interest in FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention.

  • Our Marketing Events Intern would need to be available at least 15 – 25 hours per week either in the office or at promotional events. Must have weekends available. Depending on their work performance, intern will be allowed to work on projects from home.
  • Must be completely available to work on-site at the Salt Palace Convention Center Friday, April 19 through Saturday, April 20, 2019 for the FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention 2019 event.
  • Internship will begin after interviews have been completed and will end on Monday, April 29, 2019 when a short follow-up meeting will happen after the show.

Candidate should be studying Business Management, Communications, or similar field with a strong interest in FanX® Salt Lake Comic Convention™ and customer service.

Requirements:

  • Must be very comfortable using a computer.
  • A mature, accountable individual with excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Excellent writing skills including grammar, spelling, and attention to detail and format.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to follow verbal and written directions.
  • Have access to a personal laptop, reliable internet access, and reliable transportation.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH INTERN

FanX® Salt Lake Comic Convention™ is looking for dynamic, outgoing Community Outreach Intern.

You’ll work with comic book shops, schools and other businesses to create mutually beneficial partnerships and promotions. In this position, you will come up with creative promotional opportunities and handle fulfillment. This can include things like putting welcome signs in business windows, enter-to-win contests, providing discount coupons, mailing posters, selling tickets to FanX® Salt Lake Comic Convention™, working with local nonprofits, etc. You will also be helping FanX® Salt Lake Comic Convention™ on it’s upcoming projects of LUV. You will work with businesses primarily in Utah. Some travel (not further than a 40-60 minute drive) will be necessary.

Current college students who are interested in working for school credit, FanX 2019 passes and perks, and a behind-the-scenes experience at the big event are welcome to apply.
